Yogic View- Rudraksha and Anahata Chakra

4. Anahata Chakra:

The next chakra is called Anahata. This chakra is governed by Air element and is situated just above the diaphragm.

Vayu tattwa controls the sense of touch, arms and discretionary power. The Gheranda samhita says that purification of Vayu tattwa makes the body very light. In evolved stages it bestows knowledge of the past present and future.

Imbalances of the chakra result in lack of love, cold heartedness, bitterness, problems in maintaining contact, loneliness, relationship problems, coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, heart arrhythmias, high or low blood pressure, rise in cholesterol levels, circulatory disorders, lung disease, asthama, respiratory problems, frequent colds, allergies, pain in the chest, spine and shoulders, rheumatism in arms and hands, skin diseases etc.

The presiding deity for this chakra is Ishana Rudra. This deity also favours the eleven mukhi rudraksh. Ten mukhi rudraksh can also be used for enhancing the Vayu tattwa as vayu is one of the ten digpalas governing the rudraksh.
Experimenters can also try the seven or thirteen mukhi rudraksh which represent Kamadeva the god of love. It is said in the Shiva purana and Devi Bhagavatam that the wearer charms people and lives in luxury. People in fields involving emotional intelligence can definitely try out this rudraksha for advancement in public relations, communicative abilities etc.

Additional activities for upkeep of the chakra include going for nature treks / walks, self pampering, give and take of gifts, empathy towards others problems and trying to solve those, pets, gardening, learning massage techniques, greeting friends with warm handshakes and hugs etc. Surya namaskar is an excellent exercise for the chakra.
Note: Rudrakshas should be used as an aid to medical treatment. Do not sustitute Medicines with Rudraksha.
