Yogic View - Rudraksha and Swadhishthana Chakra

2. Swadhishthana Chakra:

Swadhishthana is placed exactly behind the genitals.

Swadhishthana is responsible for desire, imagination, hallucinations, sexuality, sensuality, need to have a family, creativity, creative life energy and emotions.

A balanced Swadhishthana chakra induces sensuality, creative power, sexual energy, love of life and positive relationships with other people and opposite sex, self-awareness and enthusiasm.

Imbalances result in inability to enjoy life, mental weakness, jealousy, guilt feelings, compulsive sexual behaviour, disinterest in sex, addictions, severe mood swings, menstrual complaints, diseases of uterus and ovaries, prostrate and testicular diseases, power disruptions, fungal diseases of the genital organs, venereal diseases, kidney diseases, bladder problems, urinary tract infections, pain in the lumbar spine, consequences of lack of detoxification.

Diety of this chakra is Vishnu. The Devi Bhagavatam and Shiva purana state that the person wearing 10 mukhi Rudraksha gets love from all directions and all his desires are fulfilled.

This chakra is ruled by the Water Element which in turn controls the body liquids, sense of taste and respiration. The Gheranda Samhita says that purification of Apas tattwa ends pain and suffering.

Drinking lots of water, fruit juices without sweeteners or artificial colours and flavourings, swimming, river side/ seashore walks, use of orange scarves, flowers, aroma therapy baths, delicious food etc also help in maintaining a balanced Swadhishthana chakra. These can be used to enhance the effects of wearing a ten mukhi rudraksha.
Note: As mentioned earlier Rudraksha should be used to aid medication and not as a substitute for medical treatment.
